Privacy
Cambridge Gigs is run by James Taylor, on my own, in my spare time. No company, no ads, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
The site uses no cookies and doesn't follow you around the web. The only personal detail it keeps is your email address, and only if you send in a gig or sign up for the weekly email.
If you send in a gig
The form asks for the gig's details and your email address. I use the address only to check details with you if something isn't clear.
Submissions are stored on GitHub (a private project only I can see), which keeps its data in the US. If that ever isn't working, the form sends it to me through Formspree instead, also in the US, and it arrives in my email.
Your email address is deleted automatically once the gig is published or turned down. If it's published, the gig's details (not your address) go on the site.
If you sign up for the weekly email
Your email address is kept by Kit, the service that sends the email. Kit is in the US, and its contract covers sending UK data there. The address is used for the weekly gigs email and nothing else.
Nothing is sent until you've tapped the link in the "confirm your email" message. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which stops them straight away. If you want your address deleted completely, email me.
Like most email services, Kit tells me how many people open each email and which links get clicked.
When you visit
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it sees your IP address to send you the pages, and doesn't keep it for me.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits, pages and rough location (country) without cookies and without identifying you.
When you tap through to a ticket site, the site counts it: which gig, which venue and when, nothing about you. Those counts are kept for three months.
Your choices, like light or dark mode and the filters you've set, are saved in your own browser and never leave your device.
The fonts come from this site, not Google.
Other sites
Ticket links go to the venue or ticket seller, and "Buy me a coffee" goes to Ko-fi. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, at james@cambridgegigs.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
